Reflections

I was going through the pictures on my camera and came across these pictures from NYC last fall. I wanted to share my awesome experience of creative/artistic growth: The Fashion District.

Basically I wanted to go there so that I could go to Mood, seeing has how Project Runway is my favorite show. It was pretty awesome. I even got to pet Swatch (the store's resident dog)!

It was one of my favorite parts of the trip to New York, even though I went by myself in the rain :-)

Today I wanted to highlight a friend of mine and fellow creative, Desiree Scales. She has an embroidery blog that you should definitely check out: http://southernsassembroidery.blogspot.com/

We have been good friends since high school and have enjoyed sharing our love of arts and crafts. In her words: "Every southern girl loves a good monogram!" :-)

Here are some of her amazing projects:

So if you need anything embroidered, you should definitely contact her!

Inspiration

I wanted to share this with you guys. It was totally my "sunshine" :-) last week:

"...we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not dissappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts...."
-Romans 5:3-5

So...I am reading a really good craft book called The Handmade Marketplace. It is by Kari Chapin (which struck me because Chapin is the town I am from. lol). It is about how to sell your crafts locally, globally, and online. It has given me so many awesome ideas that I am so excited to implement! I would recommend it to any artist/crafter hoping to start selling! (see image of book below)

If any one of you has read or is reading any awesome arts and crafts books...let me know! I am always looking for inspiration...

Purse - $35

This purse is crocheted with a white fabric lining and a wooden handle. The dimensions are roughly 13 inches high and 7 inches wide. Had to stop myself from giving this one to myself. :-)

I wanted to thank all of you who have shown interest, purchased anything, or just given kind words about my stuff. This is the first time I have tried selling what I make and I wasnt really sure how it would go...so it really means a lot!
